Request access to private board#452

If you know the link to a private board (for example because it has been shared with a large organization) or found it on the web it would be nice to request access to the board.
Currently you receive a message that the board is private and you need to know how to contact the admin in order to get access.
This would enable private boards to be more accessible as you don’t have to invite everyone upfront but can rather share a link and grant access to everyone that asks for it.

Thanks for the suggestion! We will consider it. That’s an interesting use case. If all your users are customers who have signed up for an app, you can use our SSO integration to automatically enable access for all of them (including new users who signup). But I can imagine cases where that wouldn’t work and you’d want this request-access feature.

Join requests are now supported for private boards. You can enable this under Board Settings → Enable join board requests. Admins and moderators can approve or reject requests from the Manage Team section.

Unfortunate that this is a Pro feature and not already supported under Essentials. While I understand the commercial need for premium features I would really appreciate it if you could reconsider that choice. We are only using one board at the moment and upgrading does not really make sense for us.
